Maria Alice de Fatima Rocha Silva (b. 1961), better known as Maria Alice, is a Cape Verdean singer. Born on 23rd October 1961 on the island of Sal, where she was brought up, Maria Alice's voice drew the attention of many Cape Verdean musicians who passed through the island on their way to and from Europe, America, and Africa. She soon moved to Lisbon, Portugal, and began performing and recording with established artists such as the renowned clarinettist Luis Morais. Her solo album D'Zemcontre was recorded in Lisbon in 1995 with top local musicians. Read more on Last.fm.
