Make Sparks

So what about Make Sparks? Simply said, this Scottish three piece produce passionately crafted guitar-pop perfection, and literally live and breathe what they do. They do this for simple reasons. They love it. They believe in it. They have genuine hope and belief that their hard work and passion for their craft will reward proportionately to what they put in. There really isn't a harder working band out there right now. In 2009 this trio of harmonising charmers notched up a truly astounding 280 gigs. In the spirit of 'The Sparks' inspirational mentality they aim to gig more in 2010. This is one of only a very few bands that I have encountered that realise how much hard work and dedication is required to even get close to actually doing something in the music industry. They will take their career to the main stage at T in the Park and beyond. They will achieve this because they believe they will, and they want others to feel the same about whatever it is they themselves believe in too. There is an unmistakable stream of hope, positivity and whole hearted sincerity in every word of every song. Make Sparks are forever in the studio, and forever on stage. The level that this band have risen to in terms of following and media awareness in just ten months is a little scary. They really are a big giant 'get your act together' message to other bands. Hard working and full of humility, there likeability is as much to do with their decent banter and off stage persona as it is their addictive, foot tapping melodies on stage. No ego. No self hype. Just good old hard graft, great songs and a love for what they do. Simple. Craig Parker (guitar and vocals), Adam Parker (drums and vocals) and Bobby Garland (bass, vocals and the third brother minus the small inconsequential detail of different parents) are Make Sparks. They have recorded in London, Dundee, Glasgow,Skye and The Broughty Ferry. They have released two official EP's, three tours and have even gone to New York off their own back to play the circuit there. They also organise their own Festival called Electric Bay. After this years festivals Make Sparks will record their debut album and gradually take further steps down the road to the success that they dream of. Not helicopters and money in the bank, but a capacity festival crowd at sunset as they play their final song. Every hand in the air and every pair of lips mouthing every word. See you there. And to be honest, if anybody wants to chuck in a helicopter as a wee bonus, I don't think they will object. Read more: http://www.myspace.com/makesparksband#ixzz0tZ6dZ18j Read more on Last.fm.
