Lost on Purpose

Lost on Purpose is the principal music project of Will VanderWyden (born Nov. 4, 1979), an American musician, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Born and raised in Amherst, Ohio, Will currently resides in Los Angeles, where he began Lost on Purpose with a collection of demos entitled “1st” in 2003. He has gone on to release six other albums that have been compared, variously, to the likes of Elliott Smith, Arcade Fire, The National, Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver and Vampire Weekend. Will met LA-native Jacquelyn Thropay during the recording of 2010’s ‘A Knight at the Crossroads’ and she became a permanent member shortly thereafter. Together the pair wrote and recorded 2011’s ‘Ashes’. In 2013 Lost on Purpose began playing live shows with Brady Erickson on drums. The band has finished their seventh album, ‘Ronin’, scheduled for release on July 9, 2013. Read more on Last.fm.
