Once acclaimed as “ ...one of the best vocalists...” by DJ Spinna, Brooklyn-headquartered, Philly songstress, Lizz Fields draws listeners to her wit, humor and determination. Lizz’s quest to mark the day with an ever-growing catalog of thoughtfully designed music is supported by her incessant thirst to learn, her technical skill, and her ability to transfer sheer emotion. “Lizz Fields is a gem inside and out.” - (Jazzy Jeff). Indeed, this gem was discovered in 2003 when Lizz Fields emerged with her instant indie classic album, By Day By Night. The rich sequence of soulful, dark and moody touched welcoming fans. This was confirmation that inspiration inspires inspiration. Lizz’s live performance embodies this very theme, as each show is a journey in constant motion. The stories, the laughter, the scatting, the vocal range all carry the audience. “...the next level of soul music.” - (Billboard Mag.) In 2008, Lizz released PleasureVille on BlueFields Records. Lizz carved her musical space. She embraced the grit and the grind in’PleasureVille’ , the thickness of big band horns in ‘Runnin’ on Empty’ and retained her undeniable take on the “mix-tape slow-jam” in ’It’s Ok To Love Me’. PleasureVille is a stylistic fete that grows with each listen and has been tagged as “...a marvelous album..”- (The Urban Music Scene ) and “(PleasureVille) successfully takes you on a journey spanning soul, jazz, R&B, even reggae..” - (Digiwaxx) 2009 produced reProduced, revealing yet another facet of Lizz; her knack for revamping, tweaking and stretching arrangements much like her live show. Lizz refreshes her take on trademark tracks from BDBN, PleasureVille as well as previously unreleased cuts. Originally deemed to be a side project, reProduced, created itself with Fields and partner, Tristan Leral, co-piloting the boards and the mic. Excited fans will hear the epic, Notre Dame Cathedral-feel of “When I See Love’ (the journey remix), the role call, call-out of Brooklyn Flowers (Transatlantic remix) and the emotional release in, “They Say” - (You’re Livin remix), a remix of a ye-to-be released cut. Offering much more than simple cut & paste-work, this unexpected soundscape comes with a healthy dose of evolving beats, zapping bleeps and tried & true, live organic elements. These arrangements transform and merge dub, lounge, hip-hop & house along its journey. Lizz’s experience as a schoolteacher, her thirst to share knowledge and simple inspiration are key ingredients in Lizz’s recipe for song-design. In the summer of 2009, in partnership with The City Parks Foundation, Lizz performed her musical lesson plans for 1-16 year olds throughout New York City. “Miss Lizz’s School of Thought (& other useful tips for doing GREAT things!)” proved to be more than just a long name and an opportunity, but a confirmation. …“Hmmm…” – (Lizz Fields) Full speed ahead, Lizz Fields transmits another beautifully crafted message in her unexpected remix album, “ re-PRODUCED and simultaneously, in the lab crystallizing the next gem, album #4.
