Studio mavens the Latin Soul Syndicate (Happy Sanchez, Karl Perazzo, and Mark Pistel) formed in 2003 in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their music is a blend of upbeat Latin soul, electronica and pop/rock. Their debut CD featured many guest appearances including Chuck Prophet on guitar and a song co-written by rock legend Jonathan Richman. Happy Sanchez founded the Latin Alternative band Los Mocosos as well as Aztlán Records, the first independent Latin alternative record label in the U.S.A. He has also recorded, produced and managed artists such as Frightwig and the Toiling Midgets. Karl Perazzo has recorded three albums with Santana, including the multi-platinum selling "Supernatural". Additionally, he has played drums with the best musicians in pop, jazz, rock and Latin music, including Mariah Carey, Dizzy Gillespie, Sheila E., Prince, Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker, Pete Escovedo, and Paquito D’Rivera. Mark Pistel is a founding member of the left-wing electronica/hip-hop outfit Consolidated. He is also a producer/engineer/remixer who has worked with the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy and Meat Beat Manifesto, among others. Read more on Last.fm.
