Lara Martelli

July 2001: Lara Martelli went on stage to an awestruck audience in Athens, Georgia - USA. There was an almost religious silence in the small underground club. Lara stood there musically naked with nothing more than an acoustic guitar to dress her song. Stunning Someone asked: “Where in the Hell is She From ???” In 2001 the young singer-songwriter brought her band from Rome, Italy to record her album “Orchidea Porpora”, an album that quickly gained vast attention from both press and audience. The album was recorded entirely at Atlanta's 'temple of rock music,' Southern Tracks. Songs such as “Nebulosa”, “Ode a Renoir”, “Il mare in fondo al mare”, “Vittima della stagione”, “Sky”, and “Ofelia” are treasures of the most emotional and intimate rock. "Orchidea Porpora" is a very dense tracklist which alternates between turbulence and whispers, but never loses it's strong sentimental force. But now we move forward... February 2006 Lara is currently working on her third new release. Together with her long time friend and bassist Francesco Aliotta, Lara is venting her most creative vein and taking a musical path through a much softer field. The new record “Cerridwen” will explore more lush and charming atmosheres, but most importantly it will finally showcase Lara’s voice in all its beauty. It will be out September 2007 with Midfinger.
