Lady Soul was an R&B trio that consisted of Margo Thunder (from music group, 9.9), Phaedra Butler, and Risé Engermann. Margo is from the R&B music trio, 9.9. Phaedra Butler provided vocals for New Kids on the Block, Jean Carne, and Sa-Fire. Risé Engermann provided vocals for Sa-Fire (along with Phaedra). In 1992, Lady Soul released their only self-titled album on Boston International Records. It’s unknown how or if the album ever charted. Their only single to chart was “Don’t Forget About Me” which peaked at #77 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. Lady Soul made an appearance on the “Sister Act” movie soundtrack with the song, “If My Sister’s In Trouble” (also from their debut album) which was released as a single, but didn’t chart. However the video, which stars Whoopi Goldberg and the other sisters is featured on the DVD of the movie. After that, Lady Soul went their separate ways. Margo Thunder continues to be active in the music business and released her debut solo album, “R&B 101″ which is available on iTunes and Amazon.com. It’s unknown what the other members are up to.
