Kris Menace (born Christophe Höffel) is an electronic musician. He began to work as a producer and writer in the mid 1990s for different projects and started using the pseudonym "Kris Menace" in 2005. Menace is the owner of the house label "Work It Baby". Menace's debut single (in collaboration with Lifelike), Discopolis, was released on Vulture Music in 2005 and was one of the most anticipated house tracks and an Ibiza anthem within the same year. Discopolis was later picked up by Defected Records and re-released with various remixes and a video directed by Seb Janiak. Menace later formed the label "Compuphonic" and continued to release singles under its imprint, such as Voyage, Fairlight (feat. Fred Falke), Steamroller and Jupiter. The latter became one of the most downloaded tracks in 2006 on Beatport. He started DJing with Alan Braxe in 2006 and together they released the single Lumberjack in June 2007 on Vulture Music. In 2008 he teamed up with the UK band Spooky to release the track "Stereophonic", which became UK's buzz charts nr.1 during the WMC and voted for being one of the hottest records of 2008 for DMC as well as with Felix da Housecat to produce "Artificial". Kris Menace also became a highly in demand remixer, contributing remixes for Robbie Williams (EMI), LCD Soundsystem (DFA), Underworld (Pias), AIR (Virgin), Felix da Housecat (Rude Photo/Wall of Sound), The Presets (Modular), Metronomy (Because), Moby (Mute), Roisin Murphy (Moloko/EMI), Tracey Thorn (Virgin), Princess Superstar, Martin Solveig, and The Infadels (Wall of Sound). Most of his Remixes like LCD Soundsystem or Tracey Thorn went Number 1 across the European Dance Charts. His Metronomy "Heartbreaker" Remix became Number 1 most popular track on Hype Machine and therefore the most played track across all blogs in July 2008. As a DJ he played all across the world for clubs like Fabric London, Razzmatazz Barcelona, Amnesia Ibiza (Manumission), Space Ibiza and many others... In July 2008 he was asked to do an Essential Mix on Radio1, which received an outstanding Feedback. Read more on Last.fm.
