Kou Chou Ching, a Hip-Hop performance team with social care and Taiwan sovereignty as its core value. Founded in 2003 by Fan Chiang and fishLIN, Kou Chou Ching is 7 years old nowadays. Its first official album published at the end of 2007 “KOU!! It’s Coming Out!!!” was appraised positively by domestic sectors. In 2008, the album was nominated for “Best Band of The Year” and “Best Taiwanese Album” in 19th Golden Melody Awards of Taiwan. 2009, It had 4 nominations in “JPF Music Awards” – world’s biggest awards for independent music–and won “Best Remix Song of The Year”, “Best Group of The Year”, “Best Asian Album The 2nd ”, and “Best Asian Songs The 5th” eventually. Kou Chou Ching is not only the first independent music group from Taiwan entered the nominations but also awarded unprecedentedly. It keeps on the pace of creation afterwards; same year, a compilation album was released under the cooperation of Kou Chou Ching and its comrades from music insiders. The new songs recorded in the album reflect the change of maturity adequately. Kou Chou Ching is expert at making the fusion of multi-races and cultures in music style. It adapts languages and traditional music broadly used in Taiwan as elements. The unique enchanted charm of the band comes from the interlaced culture expression of races in Taiwan and the mixture of traditional and modern music. It makes sounds and intro of Taiwan to the audience overseas through its melody. Kou Chou Ching has had numerous invitations from countries outside the island since 2007. As a music representative of Taiwan, Kou Chou Ching makes circuits abroad frequently: Tokyo, Okinawa, Singapore, New Jersey New York, Tennessee, Toronto, and Vancouver are visited so far; It is also strongly recommended on broadcasts and magazines from over 30 countries around the world. Called “Taiwan’s Ambassadors of Rap” by the press overseas, Kou Chou Ching reveals the creativity and vitality of Taiwan’s independent music spectacularly. More than music performance, Kou Chou Ching makes alliances with Taiwanese designers and fashion brands from 2008 intensively, striving to introduce and popularize the culture of the “New Generation” of Taiwan to the world-through the combination of music and design. In the projects, the design teams invited include PHALANX, Filter017, and SOOO from Taiwan, accompanied with domestic brands such as SKATOPIA, Pizza Cut Five, Drinkin Taipei, and Nong-Li. In 2009, taking a fancy of the proactive niche within the music of Kou Chou Ching, Converse launched a shoes design in limited edition. “Arts will never be lonely in music and design industry”; Seeking for more chances to make cooperation’s, this is what Kou Chou Ching believes.
