Koop Arponen

Koop Arponen (born in 1984) is the winner of the Finnish Idols 2008. He has lived 20 years of his life in Great Britain and in the summer 2008 he moved back to Finland to learn more about his father's home country. Koop started to play the piano when he was five years old. He gave up when he was 11 but started again at the age of 16. He learned to play the guitar when he had some holidays from the army. He studied at the university when he sang in front of the audience for the first time. He won £1 000 at a karaoke competition and bought a music equipment. With that equipment he performed in the pubs at the weekends. Koop says he listens to all kind of music, but his favourites are Queen, Guns 'n' Roses, U2, Elton John, Billy Joel, Elvis Presley, Billy Bragg, Oasis, Blur, Bon Jovi, Neil Diamond and Bryan Adams. He says that if it would be possible to mix the style and the music of those musicians and have one product, he wanted to be it. If Koop had to describe himself in only three words, he'd say that he is an optimist, spontaneous and friendly. He always has a positive view on life, he is enterprising and if he doesn't succeed, he takes fresh air to his lungs, thinks over the reasons he didn't succeed and tries again. He stands on his own feet and rarely complains about little things. He gives his best shot and does the job properly, too. Read more on Last.fm.
