Killed By Memories

Band Formed in 2002 Releases: 2003 -Forever Doesn't Last full length CD 2002 - 4 Song self released demo CD Home base: Northern New Jersey Members: Eric: Vocals Rodger: Drums/Percussion Chris: Guitar Bobby: Guitar Jay: Bass Influences: Unearth, End This Day, Irate, Bleeding Through, Shai Hulud, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Redline Sound: My take on the KBM sound is as follows; Killed By Memories have a heavy sound with lots of breakdowns. The music is mostly mid paced and or slow. This music is powerful, not fast. KBM lack the lame pretensions of new school hardcore. KBM offer a stripped down and honest sound. Guitars are heavy and tight, the drums/bass are intricate and the vocals are screamy/growling. Cd review: Forever Doesn't Last is the first release form Vernon NJ's Killed By Memories. Forever Doesn't Last offers a midway point between the NJ beatdown style and the intelligent expressiveness of screamo. Incorporating Iron Maiden like melody, with breakdowns that make you want to hurt people and smash things. Ha ha ha The lyrics are of an emotionally expressive nature, but have accessible meaning, instead of pretentious obscurity. Vocals are screamy, guitars are chunky, while drums and bass pound away. Fans of bands such as Atreyu, Killswitch Engage,Remembering Never, Eighteen Visions etc...or metalcore in general, will enjoy Forever Doesn't Last. Also, anyone who likes their music on the heavy side and is tired of the same formula based, generic stuff; this will be a refreshing break for you. Killed By Memories are heavy and real; get this CD, you will not be disappointed. Read more on Last.fm.
