Kill County

http://killcounty.bandcamp.com Kill County is an American Music band that formed in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2007. The band combines elements of country, old-time, and folk music with powerful vocals, somber themes, and punk-rock ideologies. On December 31, 2007, Kill County released their first full-length album, "State Line." The album was recorded in a living room in Lincoln, Nebraska in the fall of 2007 and primarily features sparse instrumentation and vocals by banjoist Ringo and guitarist Josh James. In May 2010 the band recorded a full-length album titled "The Year of Getting By" in a Lincoln, Nebraska home's spare bedroom. With the help of friends and family, the album was independently released in August of 2010. The music features a more dynamic range of instrumentation than "State Line," with piano, fiddle, percussion, dobro, harmonica, bass and lap steel worked into Ringo and Jame's compositions. In April 2013, Kill County released their 3rd full-length album, entitled "Dust in Wire." The album was recorded in the spring of 2012 in drummer Brad Kindler's living room in Lincoln, Nebraska. The band has also collaborated on a split 7" with Lexington, Kentucky outfit The Good Saints, released in 2012, and a live recording of a solo performance by Ringo was released in February 2013, with proceeds donated to the efforts of Bold Nebraska--a non-profit that organizes opposition to the construction of tar-sands pipelines. Band members of Kill County have also played in bands such as Triggertown, Red Beer Band, Powerkraut, Rebar Macentire, Seasick Bob, Big Fella, Boy Caught, Axes to the Sky, Rattlesnake Deer, Manslaughter, Masses, and Bus Gas among others.
