It’s a long, hard road to the top. The earlier you start, the more likely it is that you will get there. In most cases one is lucky to reach the top at all. Others simply don’t need luck, they are just bloody talented. kiD Alex (Alex Ridha) aka Boys Noize, obviously judging by the name, started his illustrious career at a very young age. By the time he just turned 14, he had already performed in public. Not as a DJ that is, no, no, this boy can play the piano and the drums. Of course that didn’t keep him from diving head first into others musical oceans. House and Techno instantly took a hold of him and before you knew it, he was DJing in Hamburg’s best clubs. This newcomer built up a loyal fan base faster than you can say Newfoundland. His wild mixture of House, Techno, Rock and Disco was unheard of and completely new to the scene. At 16 years of age Alex’s curious mind soon found him experimenting in front of the computer and obscure machines, programming his own tracks. During this brief period the youngster achieved more than most long lived acts. Tours ensued through Switzerland, Germany and Hungary. But that was still not enough for the hungry talent. His good friend Andi started playing the guitar and Alex began singing. What finally came out sounded like a nasty mash-up of Rock and Electro, far before this trend was discovered by the rest of the civilized world. The track “Young Love” became an instant classic and was played by DJ- titans such as 2ManyDJ’s, Erol Alkan, Pete Tong, Peter Kruder and Boris Dlugosch. The album was titled “Colorz” and released in 2003. The extremely song structured material of the record is always presented live on stage with a full- piece band. Another project called Boys Noize (banging Electro into Techno music) soon followed and the first Boys Noize Tracks were quickly picked- up by DJ Hell’s label International Gigolo Records and Anthony Rothers Datapunk Rec. These latest successes paved the way for the next level. kiD Alex was allowed to remix first rate rock- acts such as Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs, Monster Magnet and The Roots. What was still missing in his highly regarded collection of accomplishments was his own label. In other words his own playground, where his massive music output can be released whenever he wants. Boys Noize Records was born and instantly supported by the likes of Tiga, Ivan Smagghe, Ata, Trevor Jackson, Takkyu Ishino and many more. Oh God, you could say, that is more than I can handle. You might be right but don’t forget, this man, oh, I mean boy is just getting started. Make way, kiD Alex is coming through! Read more on Last.fm.
