Kate Simmonds is a worship leader, vocalist and songwriter based from 2007 at Bridgeway Community Church in Northern Beaches, Sydney, Australia, part of the New Frontiers group of churches. Kate and her husband Miles are passionate about God's church, and about helping people to fulfil their potential in God. Darlene Zschech has said: "Success in the kingdom is building into the lives of others." With this motivation, they have moved to Sydney to help build the church in the South Pacific region. New Frontiers has recently planted churches in Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Japan and Cambodia. Until December 2006, they were based at Church of Christ the King, Brighton, UK. For several years they led the large worship team there where a number of other well-known worship leaders and songwriters - Stuart Townend, Dave Fellingham, Paul Oakley, Phatfish and Simon Brading - are also based. In the UK, Kate has been a worship leader at Stoneleigh Bible Weeks, Spring Harvest, Worship Together, Easter People, and leadership conferences for New Frontiers and in Europe and North America. As well as appearing on numerous live worship albums she has released three solo albums: 'Redemption Songs' (2005), 'Heart & Soul' (2002), and 'One day' (2000). Kate's congregational songs include 'When I was lost (There is a new song)', 'We come in Your name (You have been lifted)' and the hymn 'In Him I have believed'. In the UK, Kate held numerous vocal training days for hundreds of delegates, looking at both the technical aspects of vocal training, but also the role and character of the worship singer. Kate is also an experienced seminar speaker on aspects of worship leading and ministry, and her live concerts have a reputation for musical ingenuity and excellence. Kate was born in London, England but moved to New Zealand when she was four, returning to England with her family when she was 16. She is now resident in Australia with her husband Miles. They have one son. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
