Karuna Spoon is a musical outpouring that began in 2002, between Patrick and Melissa. It began in La. with their first incarnation Called Good Things. They later continued this act in PA. This act consisted of Melissa on vocal and Patrick on guitar or banjo (Co-written, original songs). This was a very folky to country to folk-rock sort of sound. Later they became Room in the Tomb. This act wasmore rock, indie-folk, to dark jazz/blues. Room in the Tomb went on an Aimless tour wth no destination in 2005. They ended up living in Sandiego after Traveling from NY to San Fran. in a huge, winding U. After packing it up and developing a new sound, the next phase took shape. Karuna Spoon took shape in 2006. It started as a four piece with Patrick on guitar, cello, or Banjo w/some vocals Melissa on Vocals Marshall on cello, banjo, or vibes and Jacob on drums. This line-up had a dinstinct, unique sound that was not lost on the new linep. Now Karuna Spoon has taken parts of each incarnation to form sound with such dynamic contrast it is hard to imagine you are only hearing a three peice band (usually).
