Nya and Andre decided to joined creative forces in November 2007 and give birth to Kandia – to dazzle, to blind by light. The project was born in the form of one song called “Grown up” that would later on feature on the band’s first EP. With an ecletic taste in music the two founders created a specific sound, mixing together all their influences. July 2008, Nya and Andre entered the studio to record their first EP - “Light” with Daniel Cardoso as producer. The EP was released through web in August and officially launched in October. “Light” had excellent reviews and caught the attention of music fans of all places, the comments filled their myspace page and a set of gigs followed. But Nya and Andre had a pocket full of new songs and were already thinking about entering the studio again. May 2009, Kandia entered the studio to record their debut album “Inward Beauty|Outward Reflection” once again, with Daniel Cardoso as a producer. Their debut album also features Charon's frontman JP Leppaluoto on song “Reflections” , which allowed the band to capture the attention of this Finnish band’s admirers and enlarge the fan-base. January 2011 “Into Your Hands” goes visual in the form of a video-clip. The video got exposure on MTV’s Headbangers Ball and counts over 35k views on Youtube. "Inward Beauty|Outward Reflection" would then get the attention of BitOrg's CEO Masa Kishimoto & Kandia signed a licensing deal for a Japanese edition of the album. The same year Kandia are invited to play Latvia’s SummerSound Festival, sharing the stage with Guano Apes. In October 2011 - the high point for the band so far - Dutch band Within Temptation visited Portugal and gave them the chance to open their two concerts. Kandia’s portuguese fan-base grew instantly. Eager to continue the long-lasting relationship with Anathema’s keyboard player Daniel Cardoso, he steps in on the writing proccess of Kandia’s new album “All is gone” to be released in 2013. The band also inked a publishing deal with Crysalis Benelux, BMG Crysalis now. Taking the same road as their previous works and trusting their ever-growing fanbase, Kandia launched a crowdfunding campaign to release the new album and film their first single “Scars”.
