Athenaeum was an alternative pop rock four-piece band from Greensboro, North Carolina, USA formed in 1990 by Nic Brown (drums) and Mark Kano (singer/guitarist). In 1999 Jeremy Vogt and Mike Garrigan, the lead singer and songwriter of Collapsis, joined the band In 2001 Athenaeum was eventually dropped by Atlantic Records, and Kano and Garrigan subsequently formed the band mg4 in 2004 with Alex McKinney and Jeremy Vogt.
