If you’re looking for a Cowboy... One who sings or for that matter one, who does it all, sings, ropes and mends fences, then you are looking for JAMES LANN. James is a fifth generation cowboy right out of the old west. He can sing and write along with the best of Texas’s brightest musicians. James was born and raised on cattle ranches in the southwest. He took too music as he took to horses and cattle, full of energy and commitment. James played drums for four years in junior high and began singing with his Uncle's Band "SHIVAREE" when he was fifteen. He bought his first guitar at age 18 and hasn't laid it down since. When you hear James perform you know he has done his homework. He is developing and learning what it takes to write truly great songs, and how to deliver them vocally. James began writing songs and seriously considering what it would take to make his dreams a reality. James has had several singles on radio stations across the Southwest. He has had the privilege of performing with many bands including opening for Mark Wills, Ty Herndon, Josh Gracin, Kevin Fowler, Deryl Dodd, Stoney Larue, The Eli Young Band, Jason Boland, Gene Watson Darryl Worley, Emerson Drive, Clay Walker, Taylor Swift, Joe Nichols, Chris Cagle, Chris Ledoux, just too name a few. He is quickly gaining the respect of his fellow musicians and making friends as well as fans. In 1998 James moved to San Antonio, Texas to put into action his firm resolves to take it to the next level. He lived in San Antonio for a year, and studied his songwriting craft and vocal performance with a good friend. He learned a lot in that time and continued to grow towards his goal. He really put his heart and soul on the line when he made the commitment to music. He is constantly showing his ability to learn and grow. James went out and brought together musicians and formed what we now know as The James Lann Band. You all have heard them and you can tell by the excitement and energy coming from the stage that these men love their jobs. James has been touring relentlessly over 120 shows a year for the past 5 years across Texas and the United States... James is a down home country boy, who is as easy going as your next door neighbor, A very serious James says," I want to write songs that can change your life, songs that can make you think or simply have fun too." If you catch him when he has a gleam in his eye, watch out. He can also be a pretty sneaky devil, playing pranks, smiling and having fun... James wants his life to always be on stage entertaining people. When asked, "What if you become a Country Music Star?" He just grins that grin of his and says, I’d be in heaven, just think of all the people my music could make happy.
