Instant Wilkie

Instant Wilkie bridges the gap between between producer of electronica and singer-songwriter, between indie and commercial genres, between chillout and dance music. Electronic sounds, acoustic guitars, intelligent lyrics, and danceable beats all meet, have a cup of tea, and hang out together. A little history: Vincent Wilkie, once upon a time, went by the name lotte ohm. In the period between 1996 - 2000, he released a slew of albums, singles, remixes and collaborations with various members of Germany's electronic and hip hop scene, not only as lotte ohm, but also as The Dope Fiend and as a member of zany dada-electro duo Pieter Bohlen & Dieter Maffay, together with Gautsch. lotte ohm's biggest hit was Hinter Diesen Mauern, in collaboration with ex-Fischmob Rapper Sven Franzisko. The single, released as "official soundtrack single" in conjunction with computer game Dungeon Keeper 2, entered the German single charts within a week of release and remained there for eleven weeks. It peaked at no. 32, which was nice while it lasted. Vincent Wilkie is now reborn as Instant Wilkie for reasons best known to himself. Apparently, he knows what it means, but he can't explain. Apart from constructing songs, he designs websites, deejays quite a bit, drinks lots of tea, and reads books in his spare time. www.instantwilkie.de www.myspace.com/instantwilkie Read more on Last.fm.
