Hero Jr. is a three piece rock band hailing from Indianapolis, that brings their own brand of high energy, hook driven rock and roll to venues throughout the Midwest. Huge vocals, crunchy guitars and driving rhythm lines from the bass and drums, combine to create an exciting live performance filled with vivid lyrics and refined intensity. Supporting their 2010 self titled release, Hero Jr. eagerly tours the region, sharing the stage with some of the Mid-West's most exciting bands. Evan Haughey - Guitar & Vocals Evan Haughey is a singer/songwriter/performer based out of Indianapolis, IN. Originally from Bridgman, MI, he formed the three piece rock band, Ether. The bands' popularity grew quickly in the local music scene, and they eagerly accepted opportunities to play larger venues nationwide, including House of Blues – Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV, Double Door, The Cubby Bear and Empty Bottle – Chicago, IL. After catching the attention of local radio station WCNF FM, Ether was sponsored to compete in the MCA Records nationwide Battle of the Bands. Out of 300 national acts, Ether was voted into the top five bands that would compete for a $250,000 record contract at CBGB’s in NYC. Ether took first place and went on to record three EPs at Echo Park Studios in Bloomington, IN under the production of legendary engineer Paul Mahern. After Ether's success, Evan moved to Bloomington to pursue his solo career. Under the guidance of his friend and mentor, Paul Mahern, he recorded an EP with local musicians that exposed his songwriting and vocal dynamics to various audiences across the Midwest. Shortly after production of his solo EP, he returned to CBGB to perform at the Singer/Songwriter Sessions just months before the closing of the infamous venue. Dave DuBrava - Bass Dave DuBrava is a percussionist/bassist/songwriter based out of Indianapolis, IN. Originally from New York, DuBrava moved to Indianapolis in 2007 to pursue a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Purdue University. Growing up in the shadow of NYC, DuBrava developed an early appreciation for the virtuosity of Jazz and Funk/Fusion and took every opportunity to hear and play with the professionals that surrounded him. Taught by former Lionel Hampton Trombonist, Robin Linaberry, DuBrava studied Jazz and performed with several combos and ensembles for audiences and adjudicators in several states throughout the East Coast. Entering the rock scene with his group Jr. Sample, DuBrava blended his jazz and thorough compositional chops with a wide variety of music from the Grateful Dead and Phish to Parliament and the Ohio Players. After playing in Ether, Matthew attended Michigan State University, where he varsity lettered playing for the Spartan Football team as a place kicker. Through college he still managed to fit the music in and recorded the drums for a southern rock band's record. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, Matthew moved to Indianapolis to continue his career in music and play with his brother Evan again.
