Grethe Ingmann

Grethe Ingmann, born Clemmensen (17 June 1938 – 18 August 1990), was a Danish pop and jazz singer. She is best known as a member of the duo Grethe og Jørgen Ingmann, along with her husband, guitarist Jørgen Ingmann, whom she had married in 1955. Together, they won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1963, representing Denmark with the song "Dansevise". After the couple divorced in 1975, Grethe Ingmann successfully continued her career as a solo artist, participating in the Danish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest anither twice more, finishing fifth in 1978 and second in 1979. Having battled alcoholism for a decade, Grethe Ingmann died from liver cancer in 1990. Read more on Last.fm.
