Gong Yoo, born Gong Ji Cheol on July 10, 1979, is a famous South Korean actor. Gong Yoo attended KyungHee University (Theater Major) and KyungHee University Post Graduate School (Performing Arts). He made his first debut in School 4 (KBS, 2001) and found his turning point as a VJ on MNet in 2001. Standing at 6'2, the asian heartthrob is famous for his roles in Korean movies and dramas including "Coffee Prince Shop No.1" (2007) and "My Tutor Friend. (2003)" Futhermore, he became a hit in Japan when he starred in the South Korean drama "Hardtack Teacher and Star Candy" (2005) and in the Japanese movie "Like a Dragon" (2007). This fame led to the nationwide selling out of the 2008 calendar that featured himself. According to the Office of Military Manpower Administration, Gong, 28, will be serving the military in October of 2007.
