Gleave AKA Gleave Dobbin has long been at the forefront of dance music in Northern Ireland. At 14 years of age he was crowned NI DMC Mixing Champion and became a key part of dance music history in the country. From his early residency at the notorious all-nighter Circus Circus, he built up a legion of fans who have faithfully followed his career throughout the days and very long nights of Heggarty’s (Bangor), Kilwaughter House (Larne) and Spank (Warrenpoint, Dungannon and Dundalk). Demand has remained so consistently high for him to pack out virtually every leading venue in the country including Club Soi & Lush (Portrush), The Red Box (Dublin), The Temple Theatre (Dublin),The Met (Armagh), Milk (Belfast) and The Coach (Banbridge). He was voted No. 3 DJ in Ireland by the readers of Clubbing Dot Com and is a regular fixture on line-ups for Planetlove Festival, Global Gathering, Tidy Weekenders, Gatecrasher and Godskitchen events in Northern Ireland. His mixes have been aired across the nations on 2FM and BBC Radio One; one such mix being broadcast live from the Radio One New Years Eve event in Belfast (2002/03). Gleave’s 2007 schedule is filling up fast with his weekly club night ‘Lost!’ at the Elephant Room (Belfast) and a plethora of guest spots at Passion (Coalville), Inside Out (Glasgow), The Vaults (Dublin), The Gallery (London) and long time residencies at Thompsons (Belfast) and Club Soi (Portrush). Spreading his wings beyond the confines of Northern Ireland, Gleave has entertained hordes of ardent dance music aficionados in Egypt, Finland and the clubbers’ paradise – Ibiza. During his time on the White Isle he has played at some of the world’s most prestigious clubs including Privilege, Eden, Café Mambo, Summum and Sundance. DJing under the moniker ‘Audio Rehab’, Gleave returns to the island in June and September 2007 with appearances at Fergie’s Excentric club night & Tidy Events @ Es Paridis. THE PRODUCER Gleave DobbinHis productions have been caned by the biggest names in dance; with Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Fergie and Judge Jules collectively singing from the Gleave Dobbin hymn sheet. His track ‘Penetration’, signed to Intensive Records, was hammered out by the big guns, with the legendary PVD featuring it on his BBC Radio One Essential Mix. Voted Best Production in the 2006 Northern Ireland Dance Music Awards, ‘Lights Out’ was one of last year’s biggest tunes following mega support from Marco V and Eddie Halliwell. This year, as well as being short-listed for Best DJ in the N.I.D.M.A., Gleave’s club night ‘Lost!’ has been nominated for Best Club Night and his latest Detox release ‘Fire Devil’ is in the run for Best Production. Voted Hard Dance Tune of the Month by Mixmag, the track features a ‘Lost! in smoke’ mix and is receiving colossal support and being blasted out on BBC Radio One by Judge Jules and Eddie Halliwell who have both featured the original on their summer compilations. Gleave DobbinAlso receiving big support from big names, Gleave’s track ‘Needlewerk/Come With Me’, released on Dutch label Reset @ Spinnin Records has been given the remix treatment by Sander van Doorn who beamed “both tracks are massive”. Paul Oakenfold, Ferry Corsten and Christopher Lawrence have all been quick to praise the track with IDJ Mag rating it a whopping 5/5. As one half of Coast2Coast, Gleave has produced a catalogue of heavyweight dance-floor stormers including the massive debut track ‘Home’, which clocked in at No.37 in the national charts and featured in Gatecrasher and Euphoria compilations. The follow-up track ‘B With Me’ was equally feted and has led the way for a whole host of successes for the duo including the powerful new Coast 2 Coast feat Le Sal & Pheonix – Cut Me track that will be released on John Askew’s Discover Label very soon. Gleave and Johnston also remixed Fergie’s ‘Spin Energy’ which features on Ferry Corsten’s Cream compilation and Dance Valley compilation respectively. The clubbing fraternity can look forward to more explosive productions from Gleave in 2007 as well as his electro edged house tracks being released under the pseudonym ‘Audio Rehab’.
