Born and bred in the north of Belgium, Producer/DJ Fredric De Backer aka FRED BAKER has been carefully developing his original, melodic and soulful music signature that's deeper than the Atlantic Ocean since he was just a teenager. Embracing a musical less is more ethos to all of his studio work, Fredric’s motivation in the studio or behind the deck has been to always add a new wrinkle to dance music's vibrant fabric. Years after years and records after records, Fredric fastly became a major producer and dj in Belgium and France. But it all started for Fredric De Backer in a big way when he produced in 1996, the Ibiza's classic Balearic trance anthem called Y-TRAXX ' Mystery Land'. The track was played and caned to death by the non Trance Master Paul Oakenfold among many others during the summer 1996 in Club such as Pacha, Space, and Cream. The result, the track was licensed on FFRR's own Pete Tong Label inside London Records and as featured on more than 15 majors compilations the same years including Cream, Clubbers Guide to Ibiza, Global Underground and last but not least was the anthem of the ' Kevin and Perry Go Large ' motion pictures compilation. And now in 2002, Virgin decides to release the anthem once again with this time a powerful vocal version together with a couple of new remixes. The next integral step in Fredric De Backer's voyage came when he produced the legendary club anthem GROOVEZONE ' Eisbaer ' released on 1997 on Positiva Records. Massive for the likes of Judge Jules, Pete Tong, Seb Fontaine to name a few, the track fastly became a classic in the UK. Soon after, the rest of the world started being crazy on it!! GROOVEZONE was signed in 24 countries and became a top seller with more than 300 000 singles copies. The a.m track was remixed by Jark Prongo, Viper, Plastik Park, Alexander Purkart and Housetrap. The follow up called ICU was also a success and received remixes from the Belgian Trance master Yves De Ruyter and the BC Crew. The same year and boosted by the success, Fredric De Backer struck back and produced the huge trance monster GLOBAL TRANCE MISSION ' Dream Mission' played till death by many DJ`s worldwide including Graham Gold, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Tiesto, Pete Tong, M.I.K.E., Ferry Corsten and last but not least Seb Fontaine who licensed it for his own SPOT ON Records and remixed it as ' Fontaine & Vern Remix' Soon after was the turn of THE EFFECT 'Day Mission' directly picked up and licensed by Virgin Records Ltd UK. THE EFFECT was featured on many top UK's compilations in the meantime and was a big success in Clubs such as CREAM, GATECRASCHER. With his production career in full motion, Fredric De Backer decided to do some collaboration with others talented artists but at this time, he made the famous Trance ' Screen Series' including Yellow Screen, Red Screen, Blue & Green Screen was born. Soon after that, he developed many other projects such as Madrid Inc (licensed in several countries and has attracted the attentions of the world’s stage, with the track My Sunday's Love being featured on in the July Summer Edition of Ministry Magazine's free cover mount CD. Fred Baker was also the producer of many remixes for the likes of Sinead O'Connor, Corvin Dalek, Praga Khan, Circuit Boy, Tony Hadley (ex Spandau Ballet), Todd Terry, Kay Cee, Miro, Niels Van Gogh, Lotus, D-Note, Lost Witness, Amber, Laysia, Dj One Finger, Jaimy & Kenny D, Timo Maas, Dillinger & Capone, Urban Electro Squad, A Split Second, Zippora, Blank & Jones, to name of few. Inevitably with time, his sound will continue to evolve... It's for that he's just signed with three of the biggest trance labels in the world like Magik Muzik (with Dj Tiesto!), Armada (with Armin Van Buuren!) and Vandit (with Paul Van Dyk!) Terry BONES, Greg KALAS, Tom WOLFF, DJ HS, Laurent Warin, Club Red, Vincent Gorczak, Victor LAUTREC, Greg NASH, DJ Vince & many others are also some artists and projects involved with Fredric De Backer. Whether producing and original track, remixing someone else's production, Fredric De Backer has an instinctive feel for what is fun, and what the dancefloor will respond to.
