The tune immediately seized airtime on the most influential of EDM radioshows [ASoT, Solaris Intl, Dance Anthems, VONYC, BBC Essential Mix]. Without missing a beat, 'Lifecycle' would then propel itself onto the years biggest compilations, achieving play on The Thrillseeker's Nightmusic, Armin's Universal Religion, and Dave Pearce's Dance Anthems. The final blows would be dealt when DJ Mag scored the tune a 5/5 Moneyshot while fans voted it Future Favorite on A State of Trance with Armin van Buuren, many declaring it an instant classic. Now the Forerunners project sets off again into the turbulent world of EDM to provide the soundtrack for the likes of packed clubs, monstrous festivals, and exotic locales. Already the eclectic Forerunners ideal has begun to reveal itself with the release of the relaxed 'Dragonfly' on Solaris (DJ Mag Moneyshot) and remixes for the likes of Solarstone (Late Summer Fields). Forerunners +++Money Shot+++ ‘Dragonfly’ (Solaris Recordings) 5/5 It’s taken longer than we would have liked, but Brenden ’Forerunners’ LaBonte has finally come good on a sequel to the formidable ‘Lifecycle’. Cut from the same cloth, ‘Dragonfly’s dynamic beats & lush, tropical harmonies culminate with a spellbinding, celestial main-line. Stan Void’s mix builds well on the original’s themes, but it’s Ilya Malyuev who ultimately tips those 'Money Shot's scales. His labyrinthine prog-staged number captivates with an intoxicating sound-bank of wistful effects and studio-wizardry. -Tim Stark (Dj Mag) 2008 Forerunners +++Money Shot+++ ‘Lifecycle’ (Deepblue Records) 5/5 Every summer turns up one bar-raising, super-melodic trancer that casts a shadow over the rest of the pack. A record that's only concern is to push your emotions somewhere out past Pluto. 'Beachball' started it, Above & Beyond's 'Surrender' defined it and Forerunner's 'Lifecycle' will collar this year's title. Pulsating beats, fromage-free synths, pin-point production and a piano line that'll ear-nab you right the way through till autumn. Add to that a truly outstanding remix from Leo G and you've got the very essence of a Money Shot. Beautiful! -Tim Stark (Dj Mag) 2007 Read more on Last.fm.
