There are at least 7 artists named Feral: 1) A death metal band, from Skellefteå, Sweden. They play traditional Swedish death metal influenced by hard rock with themes of death, anti-Christianity, and the grave. Feral has released two demos; Graverobber in August 2007 which was re-released twice (once in 2007 and once in 2009) with different tracklists, Welcome To The Graveyard in 2009, and a full length CD Dragged To The Altar, released 2011 on Ibex Moon records, an American label. A split 7” EP with Revel In Flesh called The Deathkult EP was released in early 2014 on Joe Black records (Chaos Magazine). First formed under the name Valmer & Hook in 2003 by two friends who decided to record a demo in 2004 as a joke (there is a track called Rainbow In The Dark), they called it Black Death. When they were asked to play a gig in 2005, they searched for additional members. They found the live guitarist Johell, later on drummer Damien & lead guitarist Svarte Petter. They released a second demo Grim Winternight! in 2006, shortly after its release, a name change was decided to reflect a more serious attitude. Some of the tracks from Grim Winternight are on the first Feral demo. Releases are: Feral (2011) and Potcorn (2013). There is an upcoming EP in late April 2014. Unsigned and active. 4) A folk metal band from Finland. Status unknown. They have released three demos: Festens Tid (2004), Ljuset Liksom Morknet (2004), and Trollkrig (2004). 5) An atmospheric black metal project from Portland, Maine, USA. Initially created by one member 'Glaurung' in 2011, he made a three track demo CDr Culling in 2012. Three members joined in 2013. They are unsigned and active. 6) A black metal band active from 2003 to 2006, from Karlstad, Sweden. They too had roots with a joke-band called Satans Penguins active from 1998 to 2003, and reformed in 2006. As Feral they released two demos, Zherraszharr in 2004 and Lykos Anthropos in 2005. Lyric themes include werewolves. They changed their name to Xul but haven't released anything. There is an unrelated band called Xul who have released albums. 7) A one man Gloom project based in Leeds, UK, who have released a demo, "Unexplained Frontiers And The Infinite Abyss", and one EP "The Only Thing Wrong In My Life Is Me".
