Eugen Doga or Evgheni Doga is the most famous Moldovan contemporary composer. He was born on March 1, 1937 in the village Mocrea Transnistria (the then USSR, now in district Ribnita, Moldova). He studied at the School of Music Stefan Neaga . At 13, he has literally barefoot in Chisinau to be registered at the College of Music. He was enrolled in the class of cello and was lucky to have a great teacher - Pablo Pacini, scion of a dynasty of Italian musicians.
