Erra Fazira (born Fazira binti Wan Chek, on February 9, 1974 in Sungai Choh, Rawang, Selangor, Malaysia) is a Malaysian former beauty queen, model, singer and actress. Erra has been interested in singing and acting since young. In school, she was very active and joined a lot of societies and clubs such as Pramuka, St. John Ambulans, English Language Society and Culture Club. As a model, Erra won the title of Miss Malaysia 1992 and represented Malaysia in Miss World 1992 in South Africa. She was the 3rd runner up for Miss South East Asia for the 1992/1993. She became well-known during the mid-nineties, in particular after starring in the romantic drama Sembilu, along with Awie and Ziana Zain. Some of her films include romantic comedies such as Mr. Cinderella, Gila Gila Pengantin, Cinta Kolestrol, Cuci, and crime/action films such as KL Menjerit 1, Gerak Khas The Movie and Castello Erra was formerly engaged with lead singer of Wings band, Awie. Three years later, she was spotted with an actor/singer, Yusry from KRU band and they got married on June 15, 2003 but officially divorced on June 16, 2006. Yusry pronounced the talaq on April 26 the same year. She got engaged to Engku Emran bin Engku Zainal Abdidin, Suria FM's Chief Operating Officer (COO) on September 7, 2007 and married on October 25. The akad nikah ceremony was held at Puteri Restaurant in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail. At the wedding, Emran presented a mas kahwin of RM80.00 and seven trays of hantaran (dowry), while Erra reciprocated with nine trays of hantaran.
