Emily Remler

Jazz guitarist Emily Remler (1957-1990) rose to prominence in the 1980s, primarily playing bop guitar with her own groups. Her playing was significantly influenced by Wes Montgomery and Herb Ellis. She released six albums with her own groups and a duet album with Larry Coryell. Her final album, This is Me, was her first entry into the contemporary jazz-pop realm, and was released just after her death at age 32 from heart failure. She remains one of the few great female jazz guitarists. Tribute website: www.allthingsemily.com Website: www.emilyremler.nl Read more on Last.fm.
