Eleze is the new project born from the collaboration between Italy’s Matteo Esse and Sant (production) and Eleze (vocals). The trio got together last year with the aim to produce intelligent dance music inspired by their favourite artists Portishead, Goldfrapp, Moloko, Royksopp and Robyn. Their debut single “Teardrop” was the hottest record at the A.D.E. last year by a mile sparked a frantic bidding war with pretty much every dance label across the globe desperate to sign it for their territory. This was the tune on everyone’s lips since then, and it was released in the Summer season through Ministry Of Sound in the U.K. and Germany, Ultra in the U.S., Scorpio in France, Universal in Spain and Belgium, Spinnin' in The Netherlands, One Love/Sony in Australia and of course Ego in Italy. While “Teardrop” still has a huge Buzz, recently getting plays from Kissy Sell Out and Jaymo & Andy George on BBC Radio 1 and The Loose Cannons and Steve Smart on Kiss, as well as topping both the Buzz Chart and the Cool Cuts Chart, the band follow up their massive debut with their new single “Glory Box”, taking on Portishead at their own game. “Glory Box” has been already causing quite a stir, topping the Buzz Chart, as well as being crowned a Single Of The Week in DMC Update and a Single Of The Month in M8 Magazine, and it is now set for release on Ego later this year with mixes from Sasse & Filippo Moscatello, Ryan Riback and 7th Heaven. Eleze is currently in the studio with Rob Davis (Kylie “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head”) and Shelly Poole (Massive Attack, Janet Jackson and Sophie Ellis Bextor) writing their next single, and she is also recording the vocals to Magik Johnson's new single, which is set for release on Ego early 2010.
