EL*KE - three friends from Meppen, Germany, who play German hard rock music and Rock 'n' Roll. EL*KE is composed of "Mücke" alias Martin Krüssel, "Hubi" alias Hubert Deters and "Peter" alias Peter Bolmer. Hubi and Mücke know each other since kindergarten. So they started making music in their early years. In adolescence they got to know Peter. The three played in the band "Swamphead" but they were not successful. In 2001, they decided not to give up but to go to Berlin, the capital of Germany. In Berlin-Kreuzberg there are better possibilities to start a successful music career. They founded the band EL*KE and they hung out with some important people. The name was taken from the license plate of their first car: EL for "Emsland", then the stickers (in the band name the *) and then the letters 'KE'. So they recorded some demo CDs and in 2005 they published the first two singles "Adrenalin" and "Dach" (engl. "roof"). In August 2005 they publicized their first album, "Wilder Westen" (engl. "Wild West"). They became the support bands of famous bands, for example "Silbermond", "The Rasmus" and "Die Toten Hosen". On 10th September 2005 they supported Die Toten Hosen in front of 60,000 people. In 2005 / 2006 they reached the "Jägermeister Rock:Liga" finale. In August 2006 EL*KE published a live EP, called simply "EL*KE LIVE". More information you can get at www.verboten-scheissegal.de (only German). Read more on Last.fm.
