A singer-songwriter duo from Derby, England formed by Alexandra Bowen and Alastair Powers. Dulcinea create a gravity that draws the listener into a world where the real and the imagined are so close they can hear each other's heart beat. Poetic narrative and beautifully entwining melodies are laced with a bittersweet darkness, a romance both tragic and urbane. The music can best be described as a concoction of folk, rock and classical styles. It is arranged for piano, guitar and two voices, pulsing an ebb and flow as each of the two performers in turn takes the lead. Dulcinea are a singer-songwriter duo formed by Alexandra Bowen and Alastair Powers. They take their name from the unrequited love of Don Quixote: for him she is the embodiment of all the magic absent from the world; to this day, the reference carries with it implications of a hopeless devotion. Separately their successes as soloists include: finalist for 'Orange Unsigned', which included appearances on Channel 4 and T4, featured artist for www.mercedes-benz.tv and www.bbc.co.uk. Their music has been used in independent film, including the forthcoming movie, 'Scar Crow' by Director, Andy Thompson.
