Denise Rivera

Denise Rivera, born in Bolivia (La Paz) and raised in Spain (Madrid) and the United States, lives since 1998 in the Netherlands. After graduating from Boston College (Massachusetts, USA) she moved back to Spain and worked as TV host for national television (Antena 3) and also presented several programs for local (Madrid) and Satellite Television. Through her television work she came in contact with the music world and formed her own soft rock band (Sweet Jane), sung commercials/jingles for television and radio and ended up touring and recording with spanish artists like Antonio Flores, Marta Sanchez, La Union, Enrique Iglesias and Nacho Cano (Mecano). She also released three dance albums and recorded vocals for the movie soundtrack “Demasiado Caliente para tí” After touring through Spain and South America with Nacho Cano on “El lado Femenino” tour (1997) as lead vocalist (La fuente del amor) she moved to the Netherlands. In 1999 Denise participated with the group “Colorz” for the National Dutch Song Festival and worked with John Ewbank and duo Fluitsma and van Tijn writing lyrics in Spanish for several of their compositions (for Sony International). She also collaborated with Edsilia Rombley and Jodi Bernal (vocals and vocal coach) on their respective albums. (see discography) In 2001 she started her own band Denise Rivera , an acoustic, latin pop band and began writing her own compositions. Her band has had the priviledge to perform all over the country including in theaters together with the Frisian Youth Orchestra and The Basic Big Band (Theo Brouwer) amongst others. In 2004, realeased her latin single album “Vaya Caramba”. In 2004, became the lead vocalist for the Salsa formation Denise Rivera y Salsa Caliente and released a swinging Cd in 2005. Since 2006 Denise has been recording dance/trance albums/tracks with well-known Dj’s like Ferry Corsten, Cosmic Gate, Stoneface and Terminal, Robbie Rivera, DJ Joop, Bart Claessen and Armin van Buuren thanks to producers Adrian Broekhuyse and Raz Nitzan. In 2007 she performed two tracks in AHOY, Rotterdam for Ferry Corsten’s Masquerade Full on Ferry. (see discography and dance/trance) In April 2008 she released her first complete latin acoustic album UN NUEVO SER including several of her own compostions as well as melodies from artists like Sade, Marco Borsato and de Kast with her Spanish texts mixed with a latin touch. Denise is also a frequently asked voice for voice-overs in Spanish, English and Dutch for websites, navigation GPS systems, CD-roms, documentaries, corporate videos, tv and radio commercials, movies, cartoons, language courses etc. and works with the best recording agencies and studios in the country.
