Brooklyn band Dead Stars has developed their own brand of fuzzy, hook-laden indie rock, marked by crunchy guitars, catchy riffs and melodic sensibilities. Having been compared to many '90s alt rock favorites, the band’s sound is full of nostalgia for the golden age of college radio, while still remaining fresh and modern. Formed in 2009 by singer/guitarist Jeff Moore, drummer Jaye Moore and bassist John Watterberg, the band spent their first few years self-releasing a string of EPs before signing to local label Uninhabitable Mansions for 2013's High Gain EP. The following year, they joined forces with Brooklyn's Old Flame Records to release their debut LP, Slumber, which has received praise from New York Magazine, KEXP, Noisey, BrooklynVegan, and many more. Having shared stages with bands like Bear Hands, F*cked Up, and White Fence, Dead Stars has built up a loyal following in the Brooklyn music scene.
