Daniel Glen Timms' sophomore effort, "La La Land," is the long-awaited follow-up to his critically-acclaimed debut album. This ten song full-length compact disc reflects the roots influences of this Louisiana-native singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer. Daniel recruited world-renowned musicians Gregg Bissonette, Matt Bissonette and Brett Tuggle to play on the new record. Daniel also used legendary saxophonist, Phil Kenzie, on the first single, "Ode to New Orleans," a song about Daniel's experience of evacuating the Big Easy the day before Hurricane Katrina hit, and his subsequent return to salvage his things from his apartment and what he saw and felt in the aftermath. Daniel's production skills grew immensely on his second effort, which included a live string section on "Penelope", a song about the Greek mythological character. He also added French horn on the Beatlesque track, "Glance." The country tune, "Bittersweet," fits the lyric well with Nashville fiddler, Buddy Spicher. The title track, La La Land, is a humorous, groovin' and apparently autobiographical little ditty with excellent tongue-in-cheek lyrics. http://www.blueearthrecords.com http://www.danielglentimms.com Read more on Last.fm.
