Dahmane El Harrachi (aka دحمان الحراشي, b. Abderrahmane Amrani, 1926 - d. 1980), is one of the most popular & revered singers / composers of Algerian chaabi music. Born in El-Biar, Algeria (a district of Algiers), he emigrated to France, in 1949. His famous song "Ya Rayah", about exile and its painful consequences, has been widely covered, notably by Rachid Taha. Read more on Last.fm.
