COSMIC VOODOO was formed in the greater Southern California region in 1992, and consisted of Michael - guitar & vocals, Alan - drums (both formerly of The Blazers; which also had Jason Goodman of the world famous Grave Diggers & Gator who went on to form the Bea Pickles, Linkin' Logs, Coffin Draggers, et. al.), and Jeff - upright bass (who went on to form Calavera, Rezurex [nee. Lobo Negro], and now plays with TIGER ARMY). Jeff was just 17 years old at the time! Cosmic Voodoo recorded their e.p. called "Devil's Dementia" (released on Raucous Records) after only 6 weeks of forming the band. The e.p. included 3 tracks: "Old Man in the Woods", "I Am the Moon", and "Riverbed Blues". Two of these tracks were released on several different Raucous Records compilations. Besides playing with most of the bands on the SoCal circuit of the time, they had the opportunity to play with such noted Psychobilly bands as: The Meteors, Phantom Rockers, and an ill-fated West Coast tour with heroes The Krewmen! In 1994 they entered Orange County's famous "For the Record" recording studio and cut 6 tracks, which in a savvy business move did absolutely NOTHING with! Continued shows, including a weekly stint at the Doll Hut followed; including a trip out to (of all places) Utah (!!) and a couple live on the radio appearances. Some time in 1996 or early 1997 the band was no more, allthough none of the principle parties can agree - or even come up with a viable reason why. So, in 1997 the band re-formed (with a different drummer named Joe, who went on to play with the Verdicts) in order to record another 6 tracks in a friend's studio. This time they pulled the bold move of recording live to 4 tracks... in MONO! One of these tracks: "Buried At the Crossroads" was released on the Hairball 8 compilation "Hotter Than Hell". Oh yeah, there were recordings made durring two seperate radio appearances, but they are in the possession of a former, elusive member - and are therefore considered to be naught... As of early Sept. the COSMIC VOODOO CD "VERTIGO" was released after signing a lucritive deal with KAISER RECORDS!! Read more on Last.fm.
