Bridgework began taking shape in 2005 when singer songwriter John Renaud paired up with drummer Scott Witzenburg. By the middle of 2006 the lineup was complete with Erik Kutzler on bass and Jack Sparks on lead guitar. Together, they performed numerous shows throughout the Los Angeles area and began work on the first bridgework release "World Disappears". The EP was recorded and mixed entirely by the band, and released on February 26, 2008. By early 2009 bridgework's members had succumb to individual commitments, all but ending the group as it was known. John continued to perform solo acoustic sets live throughout 2009 and 2010, and recorded a solo EP titled "No Turning Back" which was released in December 2009. In 2011, John committed himself to record a full length Bridgework album including material that the group had played together, as well as a handful of newer songs he had been performing as a solo artist. The full length bridgework album "Every Now And Then" was recorded and produced by John Renaud and released November 20, 2012. The music of bridgework falls back on a variety of rock influences from alternative to punk. Some notable influences include The Tragically Hip, Jawbreaker, Bad Religion, Pearl Jam, and Sunny Day Real Estate. Read more on Last.fm.
