There are at least two bands with the name Bodhi. 1. UK house/bass duo consisting of Luke Welsby and Olly Howells. Bodhi's debut release Emanation / SY came out on Push & Run Records Sep 15, 2012. The pair have a forthcoming release due out on Sindens 'Grizzly' imprint the 4th February 2013. Described by Willamette Week music editor MichaelMannheimer as a distinctive, stomping,and gritty version of garage rock a la Iggy Pop’s Lust for Life,the Portland, OR.-based band Bodhi released its highly anticipated debut LP Secondhand Runner August 15 .Recorded by BrianJonestown Massacre bassist ColinHegna at Revolver Studios, as well as in the living room of Bodhi’s southeast Portland home, the 11-track albumfeatures new material, sucas “Bystander,” “Rebels,Etc.” and “The Kids Are So Nice.” Secondhand Runner also includes a revisited version of fan favorite“Nadine,” which appeared on the 2008 PDX Pop Now! compilation. Grammy-award winning engineer StephenGeorge (Le Tigre, Rick Ocasek) mixed select songs at Gimme That Sound Studios in NY, and the mastering took place at a secret location in Manhattan.
