Black Van is the coming together of two respected electronic producers: Kris Menace & KoweSix. The Black Van project takes their shared love of early electronica and disco to the next level by exploring the possibilities of analogue perfection and introducing classic songwriting from some of the best indie vocalists from USA and Europe. Kris Menace is known for his anthemic singles such as ‘Discopolis’ and his collaborations with Fred Falke, Felix Da Housecat and Alan Braxe as well as his latest ‘Idiosyncracies’ album. Kris has also remixed some of the biggest names in music including his classic take on LCD Soundsystem’s ‘North American Scum’ which James Murphy loved and the pair have kept in touch ever since. This has led to the debut Black Van single “Yearning” set for release on DFA in February 2010. KoweSix, whose visage currently graces the poster campaign for Silke Wilhelm I’s Eau de Parfum “Embrace“, has been a dark horse on the electronic race course as one half of the dynamic duo known as Moonbootica, one of the most exciting producer and DJ projects to have emerged from Hamburg in recent years. After two studio albums, five mix compilations & nearly 50 remixes KoweSix has taken this sojourn into the slightly calmer waters of warm disco before he embarks on recording the next Moonbootica album. The Black Van is fuelled up and the satnav is set for the heart of the sun. Read more on Last.fm.
