Band Aid was a British and Irish charity supergroup, founded in 1984 by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia by releasing the record "Do They Know It's Christmas?. It was Christmas #1 that year, surpassing all expectations. Artists featured in the recording included: George Michael, Boy George, Bono, Phil Collins, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Paul Young, Bananarama, Paul Weller, Heaven 17, Ultravox, Sting, Kool & The Gang, Status Quo, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Big Country. Band Aid can also refer to a metal band from Bangalore, India. Band Aid was formed in the summer of 2010 by 4 guys who wanted to make some good music and enjoy themselves, make people head bang, and see some circle pits \m/ The band members all have varied influences, from Soft Rock, and Classic Rock to Brutal and Heavy Metal. These varied influences bring a unique sound to the band. The band has started playing gigs around Bangalore and is slowly gaining popularity.
