There are at least 6 bands of this name: 1)A NWOBHM band from Newcastle, released "Blood Sports" in 1984, and "Killer Elite" in 1985. They reformed in 2005 under the name Avenger UK. 2) Sanjeewa Chandrasiri, Trance producer based in New Rochelle, New York, signed to Armin Van Buuren's A State of Trance label 3) Avenger was Heavy/Speed Metal Band from Germany. During 1983-86 they released an Album (Prayers of Steel), an EP and 4 Demos under this name. In 1986 they changed their name to Rage. 4) Avenger is a Czech black/death band from Volyně (Czech Republic) formed in 1992 by Petr Rámus Mecák. They were formerly known as Astaroth and currently have a side-project called black rain. They released 2 demos (Minster Of Madness; The Black Zone), 4 full length albums (Shadows Of The Damned (1998); Fall Of Devotion, Wrath and Blasphemy(1999); Godless(2003);Feast of Anger - Joy of Despair(2009)), one compilation (Minster Of Madness/The Black Zone(2009), and one live album (Live at Open Hell Fest 2003). The current line-up is: Petr Rámus Mecák - guitar, vocals; Honza Kapák - guitar, lead vocals; Jaromir Sinneral Lavicka - bass guitar and Jaroslav Pelán - kettle-drums. 5) Avenger is the name of a now disbanded ska-core band from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. They had two local hits namely "Jenga" and "Forget about Ryan". 6) Avenger were a heavy metal band from São Paulo, Brazil who formed in 1983. They released two tracks on the "SP Metal" compilation LP and one on the "São Power" live compilation LP. Forca Macabra occasionally covers Missão Metálica. 7) Avenger is one man rapcore project from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Music and lyrics are done by 22-yeras-old Jasmin Mušanović.
