About Amy Smith I am 27 years old and live in South London. I graduated from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in Liverpool in 2003. From September 2003 - Feb 2004 I toured with The Australian Pink Floyd Show as a backing vocalist, singing The Great Gig in the Sky from the album Darkside of the Moon. A year later I recorded a full length DVD with the band at the Liverpool Summer Pops festival, extracts of which you can see here on my page. In October 2004 I signed a publishing deal with Universal Publishing Group and a record deal with an independent label called New Frontier. During this time I wrote, recorded and sold my own music and performed support slots touring with Simply Red, K.D Lang, Jamie Cullum, Ray Lamontagne, Lulu, Tom Baxter, and Peter Cincotti. I also performed at Michael Parkinson’s famous pub and my music was played on his show and also Lulu’s show. I performed at South by Southwest in March 2005 along with James Blunt, Embrace, the Go Team and Tom Baxter. I’ve also worked with Damon Albarn, Brian Eno and 3D (Massive Attack) for a piece that was part of the Stop Trident Campaign with Greenpeace. The piece subsequently became part of Damon Albarn’s opera ’Monkey’. I have spent the last year touring with The Australian Pink Floyd Show. Read more on Last.fm.
