American Pearl was a hard rock band from Los Angeles, California. They released one studio album through Wind-up Records in 2000 and toured internationally before disbanding two years later. American Pearl hail from the Hollywood scene that sired Buckcherry into the hard rock realm. The four-piece formed in 1997 when gathering around guitarist Kevin Quinn's famed Sunset Boulevard tattoo stop where frontman guitarist Kevin Roentgen was a frequent customer. Eventually the two decided to pick up their guitars again after individual projects had dispersed and fellow musicians Noah Shane (drums) and Rodney Rocha (bass) joined the band soon thereafter. American Pearl plugged their thirsty post-grunge sounds across the L.A. club circuit, later scoring opening spots with Buckcherry and the Cult, as well as playing at Woodstock '99. Their self-titled debut, released in mid-2000 on Wind-Up, was produced by Sex Pistols' Steve Jones. American Pearl spent the latter half of summer 2000 playing dates with labelmates Creed.
