Alexandra Joner

Alexandra Irena Joner is a Norweigian dancer, model and pop singer-songwriter of Cuban descent. She made her breakthrough as a dancer through "Dansefeber". Since then, she has been modelling in music videos and a back-up dancer for several Norweigian artists. She finally made her debut as a singer under Universal Music Norway with her first single, "Sunrise (feat. Madcon)", which was released on May 4, 2012 on iTunes, along with the official video premiere, while her debut album is scheduled to release in fall 2012. Joner was born and raised in Norway. She started to dance hip hop when she was 14. In 2007, she was on Season 2 of "Dansefeber", which is the Norwegian version of "So You Think You Can Dance." She was eliminated in week 8, finishing in the top 6. In 2008 she did the Norwegian version of a "Grease" (singing competition). In 2010, in an odd turn of events, Joner was threatened and bitten by a Cuban diplomat, Carmen Julia Guerra, while outside of the Cuban embassy in Oslo. She was partaking in a non-violent demonstration in remembrance of Orlando Zapata Tamayo, a Cuban political activist who died during a hunger strike in a Havana prison.
