Zozaya (also known as Zozaya Mariachi DJ) is a Mexican Hip Hop group that entertains a wide range of audiences given their New School sound, original vernacular Mariachi arrangements and very specific lyrics and themes in their songs. Made up of Roger “Bul Rock DJ” and Jorge “El Porno” González, they have been playing mainly in Monterrey, Mexico and the US receiving acceptance and having a good time. Influenced by Beatles, Pearl Jam, The New “Old School” Hip Hop (Control Machete, Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Tupac) and mexican rock acts such as Cafe Tacuba, Caifanes and Plastilina Mosh, Zozaya Mariachi DJ sounds like an upbeat mix of West Coast Hip Hop with Mexican alternative rock groups. They have played shows such as the CMJ MUSIC FESTIVAL (New York) collaborating onstage with Alejandro Marcovich (Caifanes) and their new album includes colaborations from artists such as Jonaz from Plastilina Mosh and Edy from Jumbo.
