Radical Bending is the second album of Wora Wora Washington, born from the fellowship of Marco De Rossi, Matteo Scarpa and Giorgio Trez. Trez and De Rossi have known and been playing for ages, they have both some musical experience from indie rock to pop music, from new wave to folk. In early 2008 they are engaged in different projects but they realize something is missing. Together they make up their mind to abandon everything with a fresh start and to concentrate more on electro music as the new inspiration, a world made with thousands of sounds, frequencies, waves to be understood, tamed, known, mixed and emitted. To combine sounds their minds are buzzing with the two use vintage instruments and last generation machines, make their own guitar pedals and new effects, take apart their own instruments and assemble them again. For example they saw their drum, smooth it down, recompose it and trigger it, so that awesome thing will sound like a bomb to any astonished sound-engineer. In a few weeks they compose six tracks they record and mix on their own. Then they start collaborating with a music poet, Giulia Galvan. Wora find a new inspiration and translate her delicate words. In 2009 with Matteo Scarpa the picture is ready. He gives the band a new wave, noise character and improves the electro/melodic balance. Now the band is complete. Bass, guitar, drums, groovebox, digital and analog synth, vocals and a lot of sweat walk on Wora’s stage. They unleash as much energy as possible and warm fans up. In 2009 WWW play on the main stage of Italia Wave Love Festival and release their first album techno lovers which is greatly appreciated by the critics and the audience (“by far one of the best electro-indie-rock albums released in the last few years” Emanuele Salvini, Rockerilla). Then two years of intense activity, one hundred concerts in Italy and Germany, three videos, very important festivals, supporting great bands like Who made Who and Killing Joke. Critics get more and more interested and a growing number of fans attend their concert to dance, jump and shake their ass to the beat of music, eyes to the stage. In 2011 they allow some of their texts to be remixed. A fruitful, funny experiment with some enthusiastic djs who remix their works, available for free download on their Soundcloud and also for dancing on the dance floor. Late 2011. It’s time now for a new project radical bending ; WWW are in a hurry and make an important shift. Radical Bending is a radical, super alluring change, an explosion of energy channelled into a sharp bend, into a glissando, the transformation of joules into decibels, of power into a strong melodic hug. April 2012 - radical bending is released. As the previous album, Wora work on the perfect sound, increasing the number of beats and melodies, with new software and far more complex equipments. Noise machines, space machines, showers of synths, a hail of drums come round U-bends. Eight tracks and eight stories to be told. Wora Wora Washington make themselves completely available for new ideas, with eight brand new tracks where deep breaths and a syncopated dance chase each other, meet and melt naturally, not forcing their way through academic exercises. They are three but sound like ten. When you listen to them you can’t turn the volume down. radical bending is only for those who, daydreaming overwhelmed by emotions, believe something new is possible. You leave straight ahead along the pentagram but in the end you find yourself confused and happy on the higher note. Read more on Last.fm.
