Владимир Владимирович Раннев Vladimir Rannev (b. 1970) is a Russian composer, professor at Saint Petersburg Conservatory and SPbSU Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Kommersant newspaper columnist. He was born in Moscow, graduated from the St Petersburg Conservatory after studying composition with Boris Tishchenko in 2003, and received his PhD degree in music theory in 2005. Rannev also studied electronic music with Hans Ulrich Humpert at Musikhochschule Köln in 2003–05. In 2007, Vladimir Rannev was a composer-in-residence at the Durham University. His publisher is Verlag Neue Musik Berlin. His compositions had been premiered by various ensembles and choirs around the world, including Saint-Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire Opera And Ballet Theatre Orchestra, St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Института ПРО АРТЕ, Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, Studio for New Music Ensemble, One Orchestra, Smolny Cathedral Chamber Choir, Ensemble Nostri Temporis, Orkest De Volharding, Kontra-Trio, Ensemble Intégrales, Cantus Domus Berlin and many others.
