Violent Chapter was formed in spring of 2006 in Belgrade, Serbia. During the summer of that year, just a few weeks after the band was “official”, the original five piece line up enters Paradox studios in Smederevo owned by the Brankovic brothers of Alogia’s fame, to record their first EP called Trapped. That record was handed out at their shows and was later released online for free. Until the end of 2006 and during 2007 Violent Chapter played various shows and festivals in Belgrade and other cities across Serbia in which they gained more attention and support from the local hardcore, metal and punk scene. A year after the recording of the Trapped EP the band decided to record their first full length album in Chainroom studio in Senta with Marjan Mijic as the producer. It was to be called Traces. The album was recorded with a tight schedule consisting of only 14 days. After the recording of Traces the band was dormant for most of that year during an endless search for local record label. With no proper record deal the album was printed as a DIY recording and sold for a minimal price at gigs across Serbia. At the same time, the band finished the construction of the Violent Chamber, a practice studio of their own in which they started writing new songs. Soon after, Violent Chapter performed at the EXIT08 festival (the biggest festival in Serbia) on the Explosive Metal stage. During this period the band underwent their first personal change in the line-up. Refreshed with a new band member in the winter of 2008/09 the band goes on self organized tour across Serbia in which they connected with new audiences, bands and friends. In August 2009 they played with US metalcore veterans Darkest Hour on their show in Belgrade. The producer of Traces then decides to make a re-mastered version of the album after which it was released online for free. The Traces era ended with one more Serbian tour in the winter of 2009/10 on which they presented some of their new songs. That tour ended with another line-up change. In December 2010 Violent Chapter went to Chainroom studio once more to record their second full length album. Once again Marjan Mijic was to be the producer. This time, with more experience on both sides they recorded their second album titled Inverse Midas. The sound of their new songs is a little bit different than their previous effort. The essence is still the same but you can see straightaway that their playing technique and songs structure has been perfected, giving the record a very modern sound. In March 2011 the first single Far From Loyalty was presented and received with critical acclaim. The band is shooting their very first video in April 2011 for the song Devil Hides In the Details. Currently they are looking for a record label/distributer that would help them present their music as well as making contacts with people in EU for an upcoming tour in the end of 2011.
