VINCE HILL is instantly recognised as one of Britain's best-known and most successful singing stars. Having earned a national and international reputation with hit records, prestigious concerts and TV and radio series, he has now enjoyed several tours in the USA, including a series of sell-out concerts with the Florida Symphony Orchestra. The American connection has lead to US representation and future concerts are now being planned. But then Vince is no stranger to success. His impressive list of concerts features practically every major venue in the world including Sydney Opera House, London's Royal Albert Hall and the world famous London Palladium. His latest CD appropriately titled 'Songs Of My Life' ('98) features classics like his chart-topping 'Edelweiss' and memorable hits like 'Roses Of Picardy' and 'Look Around (and you'll find me there)'. Away from recording he has been a regular guest singer with top bands and orchestras including the legendary Squadronaires and the world famous BBC Big Band with whom he has appeared many times on TV and radio. Vince also enjoys performing in the 'Celebrity Concerts' aboard the QE2 and P&O's flag ship Oriana on whose maiden voyage he sang in front of Her Majesty The Queen. Through the '70s and '80s Vince had several hit TV shows including 'They Sold A Million', 'Musical Time Machine' and his own musical chat show 'Gas Street' in '89 in which he made his debut as a TV presenter and interviewer. In 1976 he was honoured as the subject for TV's 'This Is Your Life' His talents also extend to acting and writing and he made his acting debut in 1983 in the BBC radio drama 'Tolpuddle' which he also wrote. Vince also portrayed the composer Ivor Novello, in the stage musical 'My Dearest Ivor' and played the cowardly lion in an adaptation of the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of 'The Wizard Of Oz'. Vince also wrote the stage musical "Zodiac" based on the astrological star signs which has now been performed by several top operatic companies throughout the UK. 1997 saw Vince's first release as producer, a collection of classical church music for voices and organ under the title 'In Thine Eyes'. Vince is happily married to Anne and they have a son Athol who has also enjoyed success as a musician. Vince enjoys cooking, painting, gardening and boating and he and Annie love nothing better than sailing down the river Thames in their boat 'The Mem Sahib' or entertaining in their beautiful home on the "celebrity mile" of the Thames.
